Decided to change my username to my real initials. Its about time dA implemented that!  Got tired of "ancarthis? what does that mean?" lol Also a quick note to those that might be interested,  I finished a couple more pastels :) just need to photograph them and I'll put them up. Nothing original yet more of what I'm calling the masters series. :D

Yeah kinda bummed...I submitted my After Courbet pastel http://fav.me/d4yuo5q to a few groups I am a member of and the third one declined it :( But hey that's just the way it goes sometimes. Art is such a subjective thing, ya know "One man's trash is another man's treasure", and I'm still trying to get comfortable with this new medium for me. I few things I mulled over before uploading the work to dA were: 1. Cropping (I thought it was cool to see the raw edge of the work so I didn't crop the paper edge.) 2. Paper color (this I do wish I had used a different color not white, because it shows through unless you completely fill the tooth. W

Well at least that's what I've been asking myself lately..well pastel painting anyway.  Always steered clear of color,  sticking with what I knew , shades of gray.  So I figured I'd give it a go and see what happens! If everything goes well you should be seeing a few new pieces from me over the next few weeks! As always let me know what you think good or bad :)
